PUBLICATIONS
THE INSTITUTIONAL RECORD
Publications and Knowledge
The Institute publishes what the field cannot operate without. Publication is how its authority is built and held: it records all the standards and methods the Institute applies, contributes to the knowledge of African food, flavour, and nutrition systems, and establishes a permanent record, independent of any single commercial relationship, that competitors cannot assemble afterward.
The Institute publishes selectively. A document is released when it is complete, when it has passed peer review, and when it makes a contribution that justifies a permanent place in the record. Everything here was published because the field needed it to exist.
Publication Standards
Every publication is classified at release: document type, knowledge domain, number, and version. Reference instruments are versioned. When a standard is updated, the new version is published with a clear account of what changed and why, and all previous versions are retained in the public record.
